Sheri says "I worked as an LPN in various positions with Nightingales through-out the years. We as nurses preach to our patients the importance of taking care of ourselves, but rarely do we practice what we preach. I was one of those nurses. In June of 2008 I was forced to face my own mortality. I had a heart attack and ended up with a quadruple bypass as well as 4 more stents during my recuperation. I needed extensive care after returning home. I was so weak that I couldn't even shower for more than a few minutes sitting on a bench. I turned to the best agency I knew, Nightingales. I had Nightingales Nursing helping to take care of my mentally disabled Daughter, Angela for 8 years and knew that the care I would receive would be top notch. I had seen that with the staff in our clients’ homes I had visited in the past. I had been part of client Ceasar's weight loss and helped with his exercise program development years ago. I knew that my strength could improve if only I had a CNA to help. Amy was my angel. She wouldn't let me quit. She was the ray of sunshine in my long days of recuperation and depression. Bobby Dean says "Technically I’m a C6 quadriplegic, I don’t have use of my hands but I get around pretty dog gone good when I’m in my wheelchair. I said that to say this. I take great pains but much more than that I take great pleasure in the fact that I’m able to live alone (it’s all about the independence). This could not be possible without the fact that Nightingale provides someone to get me up in the morning and put me down at night. It also matters tremendously that I’m able to accomplish this without the help of my family. I’ll never be able to spend 24 hours alone but with the help of Nightingale I can at least spend all day and all night alone. I can’t list everyone but you know who you are. From the bottom of my heart thank each and every one of you."

Following a commendable job by the team of professionals at Nightingale's in response to a particularly dangerous situation where three employees put themselves in harms way to protect a client having a crisis, we received this email which the client wanted us to share with those searching for help in South Carolina.

I just wanted to call and tell you how much you and this company have meant to me over the last two years. I've been with other companies and have been paralyzed for most of my life so I know the difference Nightingale's has made in my life and the life of my aide. She loves working there, I love ya'll and I just wanted to let you know you are very special to us.

Mom is blind and I have to work. We had almost accepted the fact that Mom would have to go into a nursing home until we met up with The Nightingale's group. They're dependable and trustworthy. We can count on them to get the job done.

I was depressed following an accident that left me paralyzed. The Nightingale's Group encouraged me to begin a rigorous exercise program and one year later, I feel like a new man.

My father just needs a few hours of assistance providing his evening meals. He lives alone and tends not to eat properly anymore. Now a Nightingale comes by to cook and socialize. He really looks forward to her coming.

My aunt is on 24 hour care due to her advancing Alzheimer's. She is very happy in her own home. So long as there is a Nightingale to care for her, we don't have to worry about anything anymore.

My son is paralyzed from an accident, but still a young man. The Nightingale's group understands his unique needs. They work hard to help him maintain his dignity as well as his independence. By coordinating and delegating his bowel program within their organization, he is able to allow his aide to help with that particular skilled service so that additional people do not have to come into his life. By setting up a specialized exercise program, they help him to be the best that he can be.

I've used other agencies before, but I never felt like I had a personal relationship with them. When you are admitted into Nightingale's, they really treat you like they care about you as a person, not a client.

James says "Both my wife and I have been able to relax and sleep much better because we are confident of the reliability that Nightingales provides. When I first became ill, we tried several assistants and could not find reliable people nor an organization that seem to care. Nightingale's organiza-tional structure which allows for "runners" has given us confidence that we can work out sched-uling to keep all doctors and other appointments. In particular, Stacey Nelson's performance, has been exemplary. I've been able to count on her being present whenever she has been scheduled. When car troubles or illness have occurred, we have been able to count on Nightingales to cover for her with a "runner". If I occasionally tell her she can leave early, she often asked to stay on to finish certain tasks. Her attitude and ap-proach is friendly and cheerful. She's always willing to go the extra mile."
